Meet Diana C. Stephens, PhD
I’ve always enjoyed helping people brainstorm options about their career.
Many professionals look successful on paper
but internally, something feels off.
You may be performing well, meeting expectations, and doing everything “right”…
and yet still feel disconnected, unfulfilled, or quietly questioning what comes next.
At Mindful Job Alignment, the focus is not just on finding a job
It’s about helping you realign with work that fits who you are now.
This work is for professionals who are:
- Feeling stuck, burned out, or underutilized
- Considering a change but unsure of direction
- Navigating a transition they didn’t fully plan for
- Seeking more meaning, clarity, and alignment in their career
Because career challenges are not always strategy problems.
Often, they are alignment problems.
My mission in creating Mindful Job Alignment is to help you develop a clear, grounded career action plan that you can begin implementing in your life today.
But more importantly, I help you step out of confusion, pressure, and overthinking…
and into clarity, confidence, and intentional action.
This is not about rushing decisions.
It’s about making the right ones.
At the core of my work is a three-part framework:
🧠 Body · Mind · Spirit
Your internal foundation—clarity, confidence, emotional resilience, and self-trust.
⚙️ Professional Branding
Resume, LinkedIn, communication, networking, and job search execution.
🌪 The Uncontrollables
Market conditions, hiring timelines, internal candidates, and shifting business needs.
When you understand all three, you stop blaming yourself for what isn’t working
and start moving forward with clarity and strategy.
A Different Kind of Career Support
Unlike traditional career coaching, this is not a transactional process.
Through offerings like Fresh Start Fridays and the Career Crossroads Circle, I’ve created spaces where professionals can:
- Reflect without pressure
- Have real conversations about career uncertainty
- Share experiences in a supportive environment
- Explore possibilities without needing immediate answers
These are not typical “networking” groups.
They are thoughtful, guided conversations designed to help you reconnect with your direction—while building meaningful professional connections along the way.
Because sometimes clarity doesn’t come from doing more.
It comes from creating space to think differently.
Mindful Job Alignment can help you with the next steps in your career.
Diana is not a typical career coach. She holds a PhD in Holistic Coaching, an MBA in Marketing, and both Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Music with a concentration in Voice Performance. Her work is grounded in a unique blend of academic rigor, corporate strategy, and holistic practice.
Her path to this work was deeply personal. During her doctoral studies, what she describes as her “mess became her mission,” led her to create Mindful Job Alignment based on her dissertation, A Mindful Approach to Job Search. Through that experience, she recognized that many career challenges are not simply about tactics or qualifications—they are about alignment. This perspective now shapes how she works with professionals who appear successful on the outside, but know something deeper is no longer aligned.
In addition to her academic background, Diana holds multiple professional and holistic certifications. She is a Certified Empowerment and Motivational Professional (CEMP) and a Certified Digital Career Strategist (CDCS) through the Professional Association of Resume Writers and Career Coaches. She is also a Certified Infinite Possibilities Trainer through Tut.com, founded by Mike Dooley, a Reiki Master Teacher in the Usui lineage, and a doTERRA International Certified Essential Oil Specialist. She integrates these modalities in a grounded, practical way to support clarity, resilience, and intentional career movement.
Prior to founding Mindful Job Alignment, Diana built over 40 years of corporate experience within Fortune 100 environments. Her background includes roles as a Career Consultant, Resume Writer, Customer Success Manager, and National Account Manager across SaaS, consumer packaged goods, apparel, and retail industries. With an enterprise sales approach to career strategy, she has successfully sold and managed million-dollar deals with national retailers, giving her firsthand insight into how high-level decisions are made and what it takes to position for complex opportunities. She brings that same level of strategic thinking to the professionals she works with today.
Her book, I Don’t Know How You Did It: One Woman’s Story of Navigating Career Change and Life Turbulence with Resilience and Inner Peace, is forthcoming from Balboa Press.
A fun and meaningful part of her journey—Diana was also a member of the Chicago Symphony Chorus, which received Grammy Awards for Best Classical Album and Best Choral Performance for its recording of Verdi’s Requiem, conducted by Riccardo Muti.
Her work sits at the intersection of strategy, self-awareness, and alignment—helping professionals navigate change with both clarity and intention.
Be so good they can’t ignore you

Our Mission

Has your career started to feel out of alignment, even if everything looks fine on the surface?
You may not be in crisis.
You may not have been downsized.
But something no longer fits.
I’ve been there, and I can help you move forward with clarity and intention.
My mission in creating Mindful Job Alignment is to help you develop a clear, grounded career action plan that aligns with who you are now, not who you were earlier in your career.
This is not about reacting to change.
It’s about navigating it with awareness and strategy.
Through my process, we begin by creating space to think clearly, stepping out of pressure, urgency, and overthinking. From there, we identify your core values, strengths, and priorities to define a direction that feels both aligned and achievable.
Once that clarity is established, we translate it into strategy, refining your personal brand, strengthening your positioning, and developing a focused, intentional approach to networking and opportunity exploration.
You’ll walk away not only with a plan, but with a framework you can return to throughout your career as new opportunities, challenges, and transitions arise.
The Mindful Job Alignment Path is designed to support you through those moments when something no longer fits, and you’re ready to move forward with purpose.
Because in today’s constantly changing environment, it’s not just about having a plan.
It’s about having a plan that actually fits you.
